Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja has bought a home in London’s Notting Hill district for £21 million, which is around Rs 231.47 crore, as per a report in Bloomberg. This is one of the biggest residential deals in UK this year. Sonam and her husband Anand Ahuja plan on using a part of the property for their residence after it is redeveloped.

Harish bought the eight storey residential convent in July, as per the same report. The property offers 20,000 square foot of space and is a short walk from Kensington Gardens. The report says that property was “previously owned by a UK registered charity and religious order”. While a part of the property will be used by Sonam and Anand for their residence, another section of the building is likely to be converted into flats.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja got married in 2018 after years of dating each other. They welcomed their son Vayu in August 2022. Sonam has been living partially in London ever since she got married. She also resides in Mumbai for a large part of the year. Recently, the actor gave a tour of her “maximalist” house in Mumbai to Architectural Digest India and said that she was initially not on board with the idea of moving from Notting Hill to Mumbai “but, as I spent more time in it, the double-height ceilings and the sweep of the lateral space began to seduce me. I quietly relished the idea of creating a spectacle from sheer nothingness.”

Sonam shares her Mumbai house with son Vayu and husband Anand and said that it “represents a new chapter for me, as a woman, a collector—and a mother”. She added, “I had been longing for a base in which to curate all the things I have collected while filming in far-flung parts of India over the years. If I love something, nothing will stop me getting it home.”
