Stree 2 box office collection day 21: The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted horror comedy recorded its lowest haul yet on its third Wednesday of release, with collections slipping to Rs 5.5 cr, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. It took Stree 2 21 days to match the opening day collections of the other film it had clashed with, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein, which had an opening Friday haul of Rs 5.05 cr.
The dip in collections was expected, but the Amar Kaushik directorial is still maintaining a steady pace and getting ready for further fireworks in the upcoming weekend, where it should register a big jump. The film’s nett collections so far stand at Rs 520 cr, according to official figures. The worldwide gross of the film stands at over Rs 750 cr.
Even with another fall in collections on Thursday, Stree 2 is likely to cross Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which had minted Rs 524.53 cr (Hindi) and if the horror comedy manages to have another Rs 5 cr day, then even Gadar 2 record will be done and dusted in the same day. The Sunny Deol-starrer had ended its run at Rs 525.70 cr.

Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, which was earlier supposed to release on September 6, could have dented its showcasing a little bit, but now that the movie has been postponed, Stree 2 willl have a clear run for another week. Even the big Tamil release, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s GOAT, won’t have any impact on Stree 2 as the actioner won’t be getting a wide release in Hindi.
In its third week, Stree 2 has record double-digit occupancy, with night shows being the best at over 18 percent occupancy. The film is now chasing Jawan’s lifetime (Hindi) record, which stands at Rs 584 cr. Except for Jr NTR-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Devara: Part One, there is no other big film lined up for release. The big Telugu actioner will debut at the end of the month; by then, Stree 2 would have crossed the collections of Jawan.
