Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror-comedy Stree 2 remains unstoppable at the box office, defying industry norms and exceeding expectations. Despite completing a month in theaters, the film shows no signs of fatigue, continuing to enthrall audiences and dominate the box office. The film’s remarkable performance is a testament to its enduring appeal, with viewers flocking to watch Stree 2 not just once, but multiple times. This repeat business has propelled the film towards the coveted Rs 600-crore club, a feat few films achieve.
According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, Stree 2 collected Rs 3 crore on its 33rd day, with potential for slight increase. The film’s fifth-week collections have been impressive, particularly over the weekend. On the first day of its fifth week, Stree 2 raked in Rs 3.35 crore, followed by Rs 5.4 crore on the second day, and Rs 6.75 crores on the third day. This takes its total nett collections to Rs 557.85 crore. Its gross total in India stands at Rs 684.98, while its worldwide gross total stands at Rs 819.28 (according to Bollywood Hungama).
With no major releases this week, except Kareena Kapoor Khan’s TheBuckingham Murders, Stree 2 is poised to benefit from the lack of competition and inch closer to the Rs 600-crore mark. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Special appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Varun Dhawan, along with Akshay Kumar’s cameo, add to the film’s appeal. Whereas Kareena’s film, in spite of receiving rave reviews, has been struggling at the box office. The Hansal Mehta directorial, on its fourth day in cinemas, earned Rs 75 lakh. It’s nett total stands at Rs 6 crore.
Stree 2’s sustained success can be attributed to its positive word-of-mouth and critical acclaim. The film’s engaging narrative and well-crafted storyline have resonated with audiences, leading to repeat viewings and recommendations. Stree 2 has cemented its place as one of the most successful films of the year. With its consistent box office performance, Stree 2 is redefining the horror-comedy genre and setting new benchmarks for the industry. If the film continues its remarkable run, it’ll soon join Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which earned Rs 643.87 crore, in the exclusive Rs 600 crore club.
