Cricket superstar Virat Kohli recently penned a heartwarming message to his wife and actor Anushka Sharma, following India’s recent T20 World Cup victory. This sweet gesture comes just a day after Kohli’s retirement announcement from T20 internationals. Taking to Instagram, Virat shared a photo with Sharma and wrote a heartfelt message. He expressed his deep appreciation for his wife’s unwavering support, crediting her for keeping him grounded and honest. “This victory is as much yours as it’s mine,” he said, thanking her for everything, in an Instagram post.
“None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful for you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine. Thank you and I love you for being YOU @anushkasharma (sic),” he wrote in a heartfelt note which accompanied a candid photo of the couple.
This public display of affection follows a similar post by the Zero actor a day earlier. She showered her husband with love on her own Instagram page, celebrating his achievements. “AND ….. I love this man @virat.kohli . So grateful to call you my home – now go have a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate this!,” she wrote as she shared an image of Virat holding the trophy and covered in the tricolour.
On Saturday, Anushka also revealed that daughter, Vamika Kohli was worried whether the players, many of whom were in tears following the historic victory, had someone to hug them. In an Instagram post congratulating her husband Virat and other players, she wrote, “Our daughter’s biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on TV… Yes, my darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people. What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS – CONGRATULATIONS!!”
Fans can also look forward to Anushka’s return to acting after a five-year hiatus. She’s set to star in Chakda Xpress, a biopic based on legendary Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The highly anticipated film, directed by Prosit Roy, is expected to be released on Netflix, though the official date remains unconfirmed.
