After keeping their relationship under wraps for years, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal finally tied the knot in June, and fans have since been delighted to see the goofy side of the Bollywood couple. Recently, Sonakshi shared a hilarious video of them arriving early at a party and spending time together while cracking jokes.
Zaheer posted an Instagram story where he complained about how they were an hour early to a party due to the Dabangg actor’s punctuality. He wrote, “Killing time coz we r 1 hour early to a party as usual cause of baby’s punchuality.” He took a video zooming in on Sonakshi, who is seen resting her head on Zaheer’s shoulder. As the camera zooms in on her, she immediately got up and jokingly rebuked Zaheer for zooming in on her. Sonakshi reposted Zaheer’s Instagram story and wrote, “You have fun na? even though at my expense.” The Notebook actor shared another clip where he gave a sound effect of an evil laugh to Sonakshi’s laughter. Sonakshi reposted this and wrote, “Guts on toast.”
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal faced trolling after their interfaith marriage. Rumours also circulated that Sonakshi’s father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, didn’t support of their marriage. However, his presence at their intimate house wedding squashed all such speculations. Recently, in an interview, the couple revealed how they broke the news of their relationship to the actor’s father.
In an interview with The Times of India, Sonakshi explained that as soon as she decided to get married to Zaheer, she asked for her father’s availability and they went ahead with their wedding plans. Zaheer shared that he was quite “nervous” before he sat down with Shatrughan as they had never had a one-on-one chat before this. He recalled that as soon as they started talking, they “became like friends”.
Sonakshi shared that even she was “very nervous” to talk to her father about Zaheer. She recalled asking her father, “Aren’t you worried about my marriage because you haven’t asked me about it?” When Sonakshi told him about Zaheer, her father said that he had read about it in the media and said, “You guys are grown-ups, miya biwi raazi toh kya karega qazi.” She found him to be “really supportive” about the relationship and shared that he was “very emotional” during their wedding.
