After Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan’s divorce, one might assume that Sussanne’s brother, actor Zayed Khan, might not be close to the Super 30 actor and would have drifted apart from him over time. However, the reality is quite the contrary, as the Main Hoon Na star clarified in a recent interview.
In an interaction with Zoom, Zayed spoke about his unshaken bond with Hrithik and how he still seeks his advice when in doubt. “Anytime I am unsure about anything that I have shot and haven’t liked, I would call Duggu (Hrithik Roshan) and ask for his opinion. He is very good. Also, when someone doesn’t need to be nice to you for any reason, they will tell you things objectively, and he is one such person. I really love him.”
When asked if he and Hrithik ever had an altercation or drifted apart after his divorce from his sister Sussanne, Zayed responded, “Never. We never drifted apart. In fact, we did everything that a brother-in-law should at that time. While it was and when it wasn’t… we were always the same because, at the end of the day, his children are my children. They have grown up in my hands. We are too mature for all of this. There are more important things. It was their choice, and what had to happen, happened.”
Zayed was further quizzed about how family get-togethers look for them, as, after the divorce, Hrithik moved on with his life and started dating actor Saba Azad, while Sussanne also found love and is currently in a relationship with Arslan Goni. Responding to this, Zayed compared his family to the popular American sitcom Modern Family and said, “We are like the new modern family. It is crazy; there is extreme acceptance from everyone. It has taken a while to get there, but now that it is together, it is beautiful. We all party together, we get together under one roof, and have a ball.”
Hrithik and Sussanne tied the knot in December 2000. They became parents a few years later to son, Hrehaan, in 2006 and welcomed their second son, Hridhaan, in 2008. They parted ways after 14 years of marriage in 2014.
